{"id":313,"date":"2008-05-30T22:24:24","date_gmt":"2008-05-31T03:24:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/matthewchan.com\/?p=313"},"modified":"2008-05-30T22:24:24","modified_gmt":"2008-05-31T03:24:24","slug":"finished-attending-ibpas-publishing-university-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/matthewchan.com\/?p=313","title":{"rendered":"Finished Attending IBPA&#8217;s Publishing University Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It has been an exhausting 4-days since my arrival into Los Angeles to attend the IBPA&#8217;s (Independent Book Publishers Association) 2008 Publishing University Conference.\u00a0 It was a great 3-day experience taking in the variety of experiences and information shared.\u00a0 I think there must have been nearly 300 people including staff, speakers, attendees, and guests.\u00a0 The one thing that persistently shows up is how little business sensibilities most wannabe authors have.\u00a0 Most are so desperate to become authors, they throw their promotional stuff to everyone and anyone.<\/p>\n<p>I have to admit even I was overwhelmed with some of the new information and distinctions that were presented especially in the area of media and public relations.
