They say you can tell something by the music a person likes. I wonder what it says that I like the following:

  • Elvis Presley
  • Celine Dion
  • ABBA
  • Blondie
  • Madonna
  • Wham!
  • Billy Joel
  • Chicago
  • Hall & Oates
  • Deborah Gibson
  • Olivia Newton-John
  • Barry Manilow (especially the remakes of other people’s songs)
  • Duran Duran
  • Eagles
  • Cher
  • Bananarama
  • Gloria Estefan
  • Linda Rondstadt
  • Prince
  • Dan Fogelberg
  • Michael Jackson
  • The Glee Cast
  • Lady Gaga

Yes, a lot of these choices do seem to be “oldies” by today’s standards.  I can live with it.

These are some of my favorite TV shows.  I know some are cancelled but I still miss them.  Ever since I got TIVO, I have had to exercise some discretion in what and how much I watch TV.

  • Harry’s Law (The latest legal dramedy show by producer David Kelley)
  • The Good Wife (Juliana Margulies is simply magnificent as the star of this show. The storylines are engaging.)
  • Glee (Surprisingly, I like this show! The bubble gum music is simply infectious. This show reminds me how happy I am to be out of high school.)
  • Larry King Live (The Great Interviewer)
  • The O’Reilly Factor (Bill is always direct and to the point.)
  • Grey’s Anatomy (A medical ensemble show that I consider a great dramedy.  Has soapy suds, humor, wit, and heart all in one show.)
  • Private Practice (Spin-off of Grey’s Anatomy.  Not quite as good as Grey’s Anatomy but I am a fan of Kate Walsh & her quirky character, Dr. Addison Montgomery.)
  • Battlestar Galactica (current series which is very gritty, not the old goofy one)
  • 24 (Is this an intense show or what?  Best seen through the DVD set.  Takes too long to watch the entire season on regular TV)
  • Dr. Phil (He tells it like it is!)
  • Judge Judy (She is no-nonsense, wastes no time, and gets to the point!)
  • The Apprentice (What entrepreneur doesn’t watch this show especially with Donald Trump in it?  However, the upcoming “Celebrity Apprentice” scares me a bit.)
  • The West Wing (One of the smartest shows I have ever watched.)
  • Smallville (Hey, it is part of the Superman mythos!)
  • Sex & the City (The 4 women are funny as heck, so are their adventures! Enjoyed the 2008 movie and want to see the 2010 movie.)
  • Friends (I grew to love this show by watching the DVDs.)
  • Star Trek TV Series (I like nearly all of the Star Trek TV Series but The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager were best.  Classic Star Trek is ok but has not aged well.  Enterprise was good in the 4th and final season.)
