I will be visiting Colorado Springs for a couple of weeks in October.  I will likely stop by Denver as well since I am in the area.

I have an interest in moving westward and establishing a new real estate market.  It has been nearly 7 years since I moved into Columbus, GA to work the real estate market.  I am excited about the opportunity to open yet another market.

I am 85% certain that Colorado Springs will be a good fit for me.  But I will be resolving the 15% doubt and uncertainty I have by “living” there for two weeks and taking in the local culture and scenery.  It has been 8 years since I have been there so I imagine there have been many changes.  However, I am confident there will be some things I will still recognize.

If all goes well, I will likely West Coast office in addition to my “home base” in Columbus, GA by the end of the year.

The change of scenery will likely inspire me in my publishing business as well where I have taken a mini-sabbatical from writing and producting.

A public relations representative contacted my office today and claimed to have a written retraction by Robert Danoff.  Since I have never seen Bob’s signature, I cannot verify if it is actually his or not.  I am happy to post the letter if I can verify from Bob himself that he did willingly sign this letter and the conditions in which he is signing it.

The letter is direct and plain.  Having spoken to Bob in the past, it appears to be inconsistent with his writing style.  It looks like someone wrote a letter and, at best, told him to sign it.

After all the time and energy Bob has given, why a retraction now?  From my understanding, neither party is allowed to discuss it.

Having dealt with the court system myself as a plaintiff, it sounds like a settlement was reached.  The “only” thing Bob has to do is agree to sign to the contents of the letter which says he was a disgruntled employee and other descriptions and Incredible Discoveries would drop all lawsuits against him.  That is only an educated guess on my part and I had thought this might eventually happen.

Having learned a little bit about his personal situation over the past few months, I suppose it was inevitable this would happen.  After all, why would he want to continue to fight this?  He had very little to gain monetarily.  It is way easier to simply stop fighting.  And if that is the case, so be it.

To be clear, I have no dog in this fight at all.  What I dislike is having my time wasted and having someone or some company solicit my business and asking $75,000 from me with little more than an attractive website.  Are you kidding me?  It takes nerve to do so.  I also find it very suspicious that I have seen in Florida public records a variety of lawsuits filed against or by the parent company of Incredible Discoveries vs. various individuals.  Basically, I tend to think “where there is smoke, there is fire”.

Having spoken to an employee within a direct response publication, a fellow entrepreneur friend who was also approached by Incredible Discoveries, and a couple of other entrepreneurs whom I do not know that complained, other people clearly share a similar distrust and suspicion of the Incredible Discoveries operation.

In the interest of fairness, from my singular perspective, this is mostly my opinion.  However, it is not entirely unfounded.  I have found enough information in the Florida public records that would make me say to people “let the buyer beware” or “go find another company and listen to their pitch”.  I have also kept all the communications of those who have complained or communicated with me regarding Incredible Discoveries.

It also does not help when I ask the public relations person about whether other people were unhappy, she was in denial of it.  Clearly, she did not want to talk about it and basically I could care less because I don’t want to waste time digging.  So I let it go.  My antenna is up and my gut instincts screams loudly regarding them.

I have no interest whatsoever to dig or find any more information within the public records.  There is no reason for me to do so.  I did find the public relations woman I spoke to to be relatively professional, polite, pleasant, and respectful.  Good thing because I was expecting some ugliness.  I was happy I was wrong.  I must admit I did ask her, “Are you going to threaten to sue me now?”  I told her I half expected it.  She said they were not that way.

And so, I hope I do not have to write any more about Incredible Discoveries.  I know those folks have communicated to me that they would be quite happy for me to delete all postings relating to them.  But, they did contact me first even when I told them I wasn’t interested.  And I do document interesting business interactions.  They certainly qualify.

I may eventually remove my opinions of Incredible Discoveries and their disputes with others if things stay quiet long enough.

Onstage in Federal Correctional facility in Coleman, FLAfter waiting over a year, I finally received clearance for the photos from the 2-day seminar I gave within the Federal Bureau of Prisons System.  It was a pleasant surprise which I had given up hope for.  Specifically, I delivered a unique, hard-hitting, in your face, seminar to the inmate community within the Federal Correctional Institution in Coleman, Florida.  I really wanted something to remember that event.

It was a memorable and unique experience.  I had hoped to return for a follow-up seminar in April but it did not happen.  I have been told that many of the inmates are trying to find a sponsor/liaison to make this happen.

The photos of me presenting within the Federal Correctional facility in Coleman, Florida have been posted within a special section on my “Intrepid Way” website.

I just got back from a Debbie Ford seminar in San Diego with a side trip to Tijuana, Mexico a couple days ago.  What a nice getaway to reflect and re-evaluate goals and future direction.

For those of you who have been following this blog, you will know there have been changes afoot.  I have not given many specifics because I do not have many at this time.  I have been simply going with where the wind (and my instincts) have pointed.

I must say that there is a pull for me to go spend more time in the Western states of the U.S.  The culture and energy out there is certainly a bit different than what I am used to in the Southeast.

I may have to establish an office in the West so I can work and play there more.

After several months of dabbling in research and poking about commercial real estate, plans are under way to form a commercial real estate development group of which I will be an active principal in.

A new business brand and identity will be formed for this endeavor.  Initial commercial real estate investments I will likely look at will be within a 4-hour radius of Columbus, GA.  The size of the deal I am initially targeting range from $2 to $5 million.  They will likely be turn-around type of projects.  I will be looking into retail strip centers, apartment complexes, and office buildings.

I will make more announcements when more decisions and details have solidified.

After a nice respectable run which officially began in March 2007, the current incarnation of “The Investors Roundtable” will come to a conclusion in October 2007.

The Investors Roundtable” will go dormant for the rest of 2007 and very likely into mid-2008.  I may hold informal private meetings that will not be open to the public.  After that, I am not sure what will happen.  I do feel certain that “The Investors Roundtable” concept will be revived at a later date but will be structured and priced differently than it has been.

This decision was made for a couple of reasons.  One, the current group of beginning students have had “enough training” and it is time for them to make deals happen.  Second, I needed to free up some of my time and responsibilities as I try to finish up various projects I want completed in 2007 and lay the groundwork for 2008.

I am currently kicking around the idea of releasing and editing the videos on DVD format as every session has been recorded since we began.
